| 15/06/2009 HVDC Installation training was held to experts from GSE Georgia |
|
|
HVDC installation training was held to experts from GSE Georgia in Belgrade, Serbia. Georgia is planning to build 600MW asynchronous connection with Turkey Achalcike-Borcka, which will enable large export of energy surplus from Caucasus region to Europe. In a scope of this project they are collecting experience and knowledge of technology from already built installations in Europe. Implementation of new technology in GSE system requires technology transfer and building up knowledge base. This project will be realized with help of USAID and USEA. Training sessions are organized by EKC with following topics:
HVDC installations
· Theory and practice
· Using PTI PSS/E
· Load flow System modeling
o SVC
o AC filters and compensation
o Back2Back
o HVDC classic
o HVDC light (VSC)
· Dynamics modeling
o SVC
o AC filters and compensation
o Back2Back
o HVDC classic
o HVDC light (VSC)
o Equivalenting

| 04/06/2009 Course in softwares NetDaM and LoFTee for the employees of CEE CAO Freising |
|
|
During the 4-5 of June 2009, EKC organized an introductory course for its software products for Central Allocation Office from Freising, Germany: Network Data Manager (NetDaM) and Load Flow Tracker (LoFTee).
The NetDaM (data preparation, network models validation and merging module) and LoFTee (Load Flow and PTDF/MF calculation module) are presented to the participants in the lectures about the features, usage and results of the calculation process.
These tools are developed for the Technical Parameters Calculation (TPC), i.e. the PTDF/Maxflow values, within the process of Coordinated flow-based Auctions in Central-East Europe, which is to be set up this year, for the seven countries of CEE region (Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia) by the Central Allocation Office in Freising.
EKC participates in this IT project within the Siemens/Riecado consortium, with subcontractor DMS group from Novi Sad. Our task is the entire Technical Parameters Calculation process within the IT system.

| 19/01/2008 CARTRANS project in Central Asia |
|
|
In August 2007, EKC took part in CARTRANS project in Central Asia (conducted by USAID and USEA as subcontractor). Countries which are participating in this project are: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in role of observer. Purpose of this project is to introduce electric power utilities of countries of Central Asia to regional electricity market mechanisms, as well as to build technical capacities in each country to develop this market. Role of EKC in this project is to train participants of this project (staff of each electric power utility) to use PSS/E software utility for power system planning and operational purposes fo year 2012, and to act as a project consultant in development of load flow regional transmission system model.
During this period, staff of EKC provided software training in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on January 19th 2008 EKC acted as a project coordinator in the beginning of technical part of this project. Training was done according to following program:
Analyses of Electric Power Systems – basic course
· Using PTI PSS/E
