Connection Study of TPP Banović (350MW) to Transmission Network

client: RMU Banovici (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

type: Study (Transmission, Generation)

finishing date: June 2015

team: Consortium EI Hrvoje Pozar (Croatia) - EKC; EKC team: Slobodan Markovic - Project Manager, Dj. Dobrijevic - Dynamic Expert

TPP Banovici (350 MW capacity installed) is currently in the designing phase. To be sure about feasibility of optimum technical integration of the proposed unit(s) into the 400kV transmission system, there is a need to check that the transmission network in B&H can facilitate the connection of such plant to the 400 kV voltage level.

The goal of the study was to thoroughly examine the possibility of constructing the TPP Banovici, which is to be connected to the transmission network of B&H, considering the state of 400, 220 and 110 kV network in future period till 2019 and to provide the best possible solution for its connection. Additionally, the assessment of the transmission network loading in 2022 was performed when the commissioning of block 8 TPP Кakanj is expected, which will have the important influence on the transmission network in the region of interest.

The objective of the study was to verify that the transmission network of B&H will not be jeopardized, or to propose the solution for secure, reliable and qualitative delivery of electric power energy from the TPP Banovici to the EPS B&H.
