The purpose of this study is to develop the Loss Factors that will be included in the Transmission Service Agreement (TSA) between Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. The scope of the services includes:

  • Description of the study process
  • Data collection and analyses
  • Definition of the two characteristic seasons (Wet and Dry seasons) as well as characteristic hours for each defined season (On Peak, Shoulder Peak, Off-Peak) based on the annual load duration curve
  • Development of 12 PSS/E models for characteristic hours with and without 200MW transaction between Ethiopia and Tanzania and
  • Calculation of Losses Factors expressed as a percentage of the 200MW transaction.

Type of services provided:

  • Data collection and analyses
  • Regional model development
  • Load flow analyses
  • Power losses calculation
