The main objectives of this Study include: creation of adequate scenarios and preparation of methodology for electricity market analyses in scope of power system development planning, creation of the electricity market model for South East Europe (SEE) in 2025. as target year, with market simulation based on market coupling principles (using GTMax software tool).
As part of the regional electricity market model preparation, analysis on future development of consumption, production and transmission network in the SEE region is performed. Study results include energy balances for each country, wholesale electricity prices and commercial energy exchanges.
Comparative analysis and benchmarking of some of the commercially available electricity market software tools is also performed for the purposes of proposing adequate electricity market software tool for PE EMS: GTmax, Antares, PLEXOS.
