These support services are part of Feasibility Study on Interconnection of Ukrainian and Moldovan Power Systems to ENTSO-E Continental European Power System. The main objective of the study is to analyze possibilities of expanding of ENTSO-E synchronous zone by means of connection of Ukrainian and Moldovan power systems as well as incorporating of electricity market of Ukraine into the regional SEE energy market. The purpose of the study is to perform technical studies of Ukrainian/Moldovan power system aimed at determination of necessary upgrades in order to fulfil requirements and guidelines.

The main objective of the feasibility study are:

  • To investigate the feasibility of UA and MD power systems to work in parallel operation with the ENTSO-E and in their technical conditions
  • To investigate the degree of ENTSO-E rules implementation in the UA/MD power systems
  • To emphasise the lacks in power systems UA/MD relevant legislation in comparison with the ENTSO-E rules
  • To allow elaborating the draft agreement on interconnection of Ukrainian and Moldovan power systems to ENTSO-E CE, determining rights and responsibilities of the parties regarding the following steps on the way to extending the ENTSO-E CE synchronous zone.

Several analyses, such as technical (steady-state, short-circuit, dynamics and stability, power system control), organizational and legal possible obstacles, have been performed within the study.
