PlexosPLEXOS
PLEXOS (The Unified Energy Market Simulation Platform) is a powerful simulation engine that provides analytics and decision-support to modelers, generators, and market analysts. PLEXOS is the best in-class energy forecasting software offering both flexible and precise simulations across several markets—electric, water, gas and renewable energy.
PLEXOS is a unified energy modeling and forecasting software platform. Its powerful simulation engine analyzes zonal and nodal energy models ranging from long-term investment planning to medium-term operational planning and down to short-term, hourly, and intra-hourly market simulations. While other simulation software only models energy markets separately, PLEXOS allows you to understand the market variations across the entire energy landscape. The result: co-optimized interdependent energy market simulation that enables you to uncover hidden value.
antaresAntares
Antares is a software tool formulated on the basis of probabilistic sequential hourly simulation of power system operation with:
  • Application of Monte Carlo method which encompasses different combinations of wind, solar, hydro generation as well as different demand changes with respect to weather conditions (changes in wind speed, insolation, hydrology conditions, temperature) and different levels of unavailability of thermal units due to fails or maintenance
  • Hydro-thermal optimisation („unit commitment“ i „optimal hourly dispatching“) with the aim to minimize the costs of system operation
  • Respect of the characteristics and constraints in transmission network (NTC or GTC constraints with DC load flow in line with equivalent impedances or PTDF factors)
GTMaxGTMax
This software tool enables optimisation of power system operation and market coupling based on maximization of the profit for all participants in the market (revenue on the market in comparison to operating costs). Simulations are based on full hourly discretization, detailed modeling of all types of generating units and their technical and economic characteristics, modeling of market elements (exchange, bilateral contracts), as well as constraints in transmission network (transactional NTC or physical GTC constraints in DC load flow calculations.
CAPEElectrocon CAPE
Electrocon International Inc. develops and provides CAPE software for modeling and analysis of electrical transmission networks' protection systems. CAPE software is the world's most powerful set of tools for protection engineering. CAPE comes with the world's largest library of detailed relay models, with over 6000 relay styles, reclosers and fuses, tailored for protection engineers. Detailed relay models respond accurately to setting changes.
WASP IV
Well known software application used world wide for generation expansion and demand planning.
SDDP
A software tool that has been used in more than 30 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific for national and regional probabilistic production costing simulations, computation of locational marginal prices (LMPs), congestion analysis and estimation of greenhouse gas emissions. SDDP has also been used in over a hundred studies of investments in new generation capacity and regional interconnection for countries in South/Central America, the Balkans and Asia.
