Workshop: European electricity markets and Congestion Management

Under the umbrella of USAID project - Assistance to the Energy Sector of Armenia, EKC organized and performed the Workshop for the Armenian electricity sector management, on European electricity markets and Congestion Management, in Belgrade, May 21-25, 2012.

General Managers of Armenian Transmission Operator, System Operator and Scheduling Centre, as well as high representatives from Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources and Regulatory Agency attended the courses. Also, the representatives from Tetratech (US Consulting Company) and USEA (United States Energy Association) took part in the sessions.

The experts from:

  • Electricity Coordinating Center (EKC),
  • Elektromreža Srbije (EMS),
  • Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and
  • Austrian Power Grid (APG),

presented the organization of European and Serbian electricity sector, existing procedures for Transmission Capacity Allocation as applied in Serbia and Europe, as well as plans for future development.
