Currently, the transmission system in Western Serbia especially, has inadequate capacity and equipment is very old. This adversely affects both energy imports and regional transit capacity in the Serbian network. Reconstruction of this part of the network is necessary, and upgrade to 400kV voltage level is best solution. Object of this prefeasibility study is to investigate possible options to realize this system upgrade till 2015 with network development vision till 2025.
