CARTRANS – Central Asia Regional Transmission System planning project - Regional model development

client: USEA, USAID

type: Regional Study (Transmission)

finishing date: September 2008

team: S. Mijailovic, N. Krajisnik, P. Miksa

Objective of this study was to build technical capacity within the TSO’s of Central Asia to develop national transmission models using the internationally accepted Power System Simulator for Engineers (Siemens/PTI PSS/E). In the scope was to check each national model accuracy, merge developed national transmission models into one regional transmission system model of Central Asia and analyze the regional transmission system to identify the existing potential for electric power trade in the region and limiting factors.

Type of services provided:

  • Data collection and analyses
  • Load flow analyses (steady state, contingency...)
  • Regional model construction for year 2012
  • Training of experts,
  • Transfer capacities evaluation
