The objective of the project is to harmonize the existing planning, operational and connection standards and requirements with actual Northern Macedonian legislative related to the energy sector and with European legislative established and guided by European Commission (EC), European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER).
The harmonization process comprises the following activities:
- Modification of the grid code structure towards the ENTSO-E concept
- Harmonization of technical requirements with national and European regulation
- Definition of rights, obligations and responsibilities of transmission system users and delimitation of jurisdiction in accordance with the Energy Law, Electricity Market code and Balancing Code
- Revision of templates for collection of input data which are necessary for operational and long-term planning, as well as for connection of new users and modification of technical parameters of existing ones
- Revision and harmonization of procedures for connection to transmission grid
- Revision of procedures for power system planning and control in real-time
