Purpose of this Cost/Benefit Analysis is to prove integrity of the new substation 220/110 kV Bistrica (150 MVA) construction from the network improvements point of view and also from profitability of investment point of view by evaluation of future benefits which can be expressed as potential income.

In order to examine network improvements, following analyses are performed for each characteristic scenario without and with SS 220/110 kV Bistrica in operation:

  • Network security, reliability and quality of power supply assessment
  • Determination of power losses in transmission network
  • Elimination of existing firm connection in the network.

Results derived from these analyses are being compared in order to fully examine all potential advantages or disadvantages caused by observed substation operation.

Economic analysis of the project investment efficiency is performed in order to determine economic profitability of investment and project capability as an independent economic entity to settle its liabilities against creditors, employees and the community from its own ongoing business operations. For that purpose financial evaluation is performed in order to derive economic efficiency indices based on estimated costs and benefits of the investment program related to the construction of the substation Bistrica.
