Prefeasibility Study of Connection of the TPP Banovici (300MW)

client: IBE (Slovenia), Electric Power Utility BiH (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

type: Pre-feasibility Study (Transmission, Generation)

finishing date: March 2009

team: Slobodan Markovic – Project Leader, M. Vukovic, P. Miksa – Consultants, N. Jovic

Objective of the Study is connection of the new TPP Banovići (estimated installed power 300 MW) to the transmission grid of Bosnia and Herzegovina taking into consideration transmission development plans of 400, 220 and 110 kV network until 2020. The Study investigated four possible variants of connection and provided the best solution for it. These four variants of connection are:

In case of connection on 220 kV network:

1. In/out to existing 220 kV OHL SS Tuzla 4 – RP Kakanj

2. In/out to existing 220 kV OHL SS Tuzla 4 - SS Zenica

In case of connection on 400 kV network:

3. In/out to existing 400 kV OHL SS Tuzla 4 – (SS 400/110 kV Stanari) –SS Banja Luka 6

4. In/out to existing 400 kV OHL SS Tuzla 4 – (TPP Kakanj) – SS Sarajevo 10

It was necessary to confirm that transmission possibilities of BiH network should not be endangered and to give solution for safe and qualitative electricity delivery of whole produced energy in any moment. Taking into consideration maximum engagement of TPP Banovići, techno economical analyses, for all potential variants have been performed. In other words, estimation of investments that depends on variants of connection of TPP is provided.

Type of services provided:

  • Load flow and voltage profile studies
  • Study security analyze
  • Connection point selection (different scenarios)
  • Evaluation of economical costs for TPP connection
