Goal of the project is to analyze transmission network in Dubai – DEWA and analyze feasibility of new South to North link in view of installation of new generation capacities planned by 2030 (4000 MW of solar power plants, 4000 MW coal-fired units and 1500 MW CCGT power plants) in southern part of the network and to supply demand mostly concentrated in North with 80 km submarine cables. All versions of connection should be analyzed AC or DC including selection of best available option for HVDC.
