Reactive Power Compensation Requirements for OETC with 400KV System in 2016

Oman
Study OMAN compensation

client: OETC (Oman), EDF Cist (France)

type: Pre-Feasibility study  (Power Quality)

finishing date: May 2013 (December 2013)

team: EDF Cist (France) - EKC consortium; EKC team: Predrag Miksa – Task Leader, Milos Stojkovic – Transmission system expert

Goal of the project is to propose reactive power compensation means in view of development of OETC transmission grid and implementation of 400 kV voltage in transmission system. Consultant should develop solutions for effective voltage control in new 400 kV network taking into consideration present state and future system and generation development. Аll analyses are performed using Digsilent Power Factory tool. Besides, consultant should develop requiremets to be implemented in Grid Code of Oman.
