Study of Power Supply for Construction Site of Motorway Section "Smokovac - Matesevo"

client: CGES AD (Montenegro)

type: Study (Transmission, Power Quality)

finishing date: February 2015

team: Milan Ivanovic - Project Leader, M. Vukovic - Consultant

Main objective of the study is to determine connection sites for mobile substations which will supply the construction sites of motorway section "Smokovac - Matesevo".

Existing electrical grid can not provide safe and reliable power supply, and planned deadlines for the construction of new substations for permanent power supply of motorway section and its infrastructure were in conflict with the construction dynamics of the motorway section. Therefore, the decision was made to provide a temporary power supply for construction site, by using mobile substations.

In order to examine compliance of the suggested solution to Montenegrin grid code, following activities have been performed:

  • Integration of simulation model into regional SEE model in software PSS/E
  • Load flow analyses
  • Analyses of network element loadings,
  • N-1 security assesment,
  • Analysis of voltage-reactive conditions
  • Short circuit analyses

Type of services provided:

  • Load flow analyses
  • Network security assessment
  • Short circuit analyses
