The aim of the project was development of electricity market model of South East European region in PLEXOS software tool for the purposes of analysing the effects of regional balancing integration. The developed model was defined in a manner that allows sequential simulations of day ahead, intraday wholesale market and balancing market.
The developed SEE region market model was used to perform analysis related to EMS AD participation in regional balancing cooperation with the main focus on mFRR energy exchange, as well as to provide forecasted level of wholesale and balancing energy prices for the analysed year – 2020.
