The main goal of this study was to investigate the possibilities and analyse the effects of a new compensation device (2x25 Mvar) within the existing substation 110kV in Ohrid-Prespan region. Three commercially available solutions had been identified including all grid reinforcements which are expected and related to this project and referred to Macedonian transmission and distribution system within the area of interest. Special attention was focused on modelling of loads, voltage control devices as well as for compensation devices themselves. Performed analyses include verification of static and dynamic characteristics of new compensation on the area of interest as well as preparatory activities for tender documentation for procurement of these devices.

Type of services provided:

  • Load flow analysis
  • Contingency (N-1) analysis
  • Optimal power flow
  • Dynamic analyses for transient and mid-term period
  • CAPEX/OPEX analysis
